How Are We Funded?
To support the Northeast Florida Regional Transportation Commission in its first five years, participating counties agreed to provide funding based on population. These funds are used to staff an Executive Director, studies, grant writing and communications to perform the RTC’s legislatively mandated activities. Monthly Treasurer's Reports for the past year are available in our Archives.
Our fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30.
Funding for projects is under review and may come from a variety of sources including grants, reallocation of transportation agency programming or future dedicated funding streams. Competition for funding is stiff and most projects are programmed many years in advance. The RTC conducted an analysis of potential funding sources for prioritized projects.
